A great idea goes viral right?

Will your project really be catapulted?

Wrong. We’ve seen too many great ideas going directly to the dead pool because all that the creators had in mind was this fixed idea of going
viral
.

Let’s say this clearly: you may have a better chance of winning the lottery than you would have of your brand new web site or web application being catapulted into the stratosphere through the viral process.

Have we destroyed some dreams here? Not at all. Promoting on the web is definitely the best way to go, but you need to build a solid promotional
strategy and, most of all, you have to expect to work hard at it regularly.

Don’t believe in miracles. Believe in your potential and in the power of intelligent minds helping you to promote your web business on a regular basis.

  1. Hi! I’ve recently had a client asking insistently for me to make his website “go viral”. It took an awful amount of time to make him realise that, despite his idea being innovative and all that good stuff, he(and I) should be focusing on his users needs. My argument’s cornerstone was the fact that each satisfied customer is a potential marketeer for his website. Once I arrived at that thought the discussion was over. So the next time I hear this “going viral” bs again I’ll know exactly what to say!

  2. Thanks a lot for your comment Thiago.

Going viral is quite like miracles. They do exist but you can’t just sit and wait for them. I believe in solid promo strategies and in regular-basis hard work. :)
